Ferenc Hudecz

Dr. Ferenc Hudecz is a Professor and Chair of Organic Chemistry at the Eötvös L. University (ELTE) and Head of the Research Group of Peptide Chemistry, Hungarian Academy of Sciences (HAS). He studied Chemistry at ELTE (1972-77), obtained Ph.D. (1980) in Bioorganic Chemistry and received D. Sc. (1993), elected member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (2010). He worked in Prague (Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences), at the Wistar Institute in Philadelphia (1983-84), at the University of Nottingham (1988-89). He has been Visiting Professor at the Kumamoto University, Japan (1992), at Osaka University (1999-2000), at University of Konstanz, Germany (2001, 2004). He was acting as Chairman of one of the first TEMPUS Joint European Project in Hungary (1991-1994), COST Chemistry Working Group (2000-2004) and now is MC member of COST Chemical Approaches to Targeting Drug Resistance in Cancer Stem Cells program (2012-2016). Dr Hudecz published > 200 full research papers, acted as associate editor for the journal, Bioconjugate Chemistry (American Chemical Society) (2007-2014), board member for J. Peptide Science (EPS) (2001-) and Editor of Special Report Periodicals on Amino acids, Peptide and proteins, Royal Society of Chemistry (2014- ). Dr Hudecz served as Secretary (2000-2008) and is now the President (2010-) of the European Peptide Society. He was the Rector (2006-2010) of Eötvös L. University, a Member (2007-2009) and now is a Honorary Member of the Council of the Confucius Institute Headquarter (2011-).
